This piece was commissioned by Gerding Edlen for a multi-use apartment/retail complex called  "The Frank", (now called Archstone) on Rose Avenue in Venice, CA. The client wanted the artwork to reflect the history or contemporary aspects of Venice culture. I chose to use the Venice library and record the marks and traces left by local citizens in the books written about or set in Venice. Passages and snippets of text about beach life, the Venice Canals, and the casual lifestyle are reflected here in a screen-printed window installation on the property.
