Near my home in Southern California is a grove of coast live oak trees. The carpet of fallen leaves beneath them is both lush and crisp, sheltering the many creatures that live below. In this print, I wanted to reveal the layers and accumulated history beneath these trees—the strata that form the forest floor over time.
