North is part of a larger body of work about the idea of home. I use the term "idea of home" because the feeling of home is such an elusive quality. Sometimes that places that shouldn't feel like home just do, and ones that you try to make feel like home never quite make it. This piece represents all of the bedrooms I have ever had. In it, I’ve drawn the floor plans of the bedrooms and made them into silver metallic stickers that sit on photographs I’ve taken of different of places I have lived. The north star, true north...these are way-finding elements I reference here in search of home.
