Town Totems photographs with collage, 8” x 10”
These collages were done in a period of time where traveling anywhere outside of my daily routine was not an option. I started to pore over my atlas and snip out towns and places I wanted to visit. Over time, the love of the language took over and the names of the towns seemed almost alive to me. I felt very connected to not only places I have lived in or visited but also ones I’d never heard of. The result was a series of fictitious geographical patterns of the towns using my own photographs.
